R 1 Boer Goats

Where Champions are Bred and Friends are Made

Does

Our doe herd consists of many high-quality, show correct does.  Most of our doe herd has been successfully shown at some point during their time on our farm.

We don’t have large numbers, but the does we buy, produce and then choose to retain in our herd are of the best quality.  The vast majority of our does are from Texas with some coming from select Indiana breeders.  We have does from S&A Farms, Charles Turner, T 4 Ranch, Lewis Creek Boer Goats, B 4 Boer Goats, Paul Payne and Norman Kohls to name a few.

Matching up these does to the correct buck can be a chore, and we’re surely not always right, but with our high quality does and select bucks , the pool of elite genetics we combine provides the foundation for the future of our doe herd.

To the left and below is TL S304.  This is one of our first serious does.  We bought her as our pick of Charles Turner’s yearlings at his sale.  She is a half-blood out of TX02 N1045.  She has never missed with her kids.  R1BG V330 is a great example.  She has always shown well, and we she is showing great this year, already.  She is broody with tons of style, and one of the most truly powerful percentage does we’ve seen.  She isn’t fat, yet her top can’t be covered by an outstretched hand.  Her wether kids are spectacular.

Below left:  This is a doe from Paul Payne. LENGTH and Correctness.  This doe produced a very good doe kid out of Bo-Vision and is bred back for late October.

Below:  TL S304 under Terry Burks before winning grand champion percentage doe.

Left and below:  This doe was the our reasonable pick of the doe kids  from the T 4 dispersal.  She is an extremely balanced, thick, feminine doe.  She delivered a paint doe out of 2DOX Sourcerer who is now in Virginia.  She is currently exposed to Totally Ripped, a son of TLB Ripper.  These kids should be extremely good.

Below is our kidding season and breeding chart for the breeding stock and registered part of our herd.  If you see something you are interested in our want to learn more, feel free to ask.

Everything is going well so far,  be sure to come look in the spring.  Thanks for looking. . . .
