It has long been said that a sire is half of your herd, and we find this to be more than true. A good investment in quality sires has moved our program forward faster than anything else. Our bucks all are sound on their feet and legs We pride ourselves on our wide genetic array and set of high-quality stud bucks. We own all or own partnerships in 5 bucks from 5 months to 5 years old. Our stud battery has bucks that range from a hard-muscled, tight, thin-hided wether buck to an old double bred Vlek buck. We have own sons of JRA1 Agnew’s Bo-Howdy and Downen T138 Boilermaker. Our bloodlines within the three generation pedigrees include Downen Design 19, RRD Top Brass, DER War Paint, RDR Super Champ, Vlek, Pipeline, Dello, TX02 1045, FSE Bluechip, Downen S160, Ubora and several other solid genetic lines. We have a very solid genetic line up and feel very confident in the ability of our lines to replicate themselves with quality offspring. All of our older bucks are proven producers of quality. We rarely don’t band young bucks, but if they are kept a buck, we selectively breed them to a couple of does at 5 to 7 months old to determine if a buck should be sold for breeding stock or not. With kids on the ground before a buck reaches one year old, if a buck does not turn out, limited time and energy is invested into it. |

SAFD R1MG Bo-Sport |
|
This is our new buck. His dam was the high seller of the 2007 All Star sale. She is hands down the best daughter of the 2005 NAILE Grand Champion buck Downen S160 Sport I have seen . With the untimely death of Sport with less than 40 kids, the value of this grandson is only enhanced. Bo-Sport is a son of DER Bo-Buck. Bo-Buck is a Bo-Howdy son over a War Paint daughter. This together brings Bo-Howdy, Top Brass, S160, Ubora, and War Paint all in his 3 generation pedigree.
This buck is up-fronted, wide but stylish throughout, and powers off an awesome set of back legs. We’re going to use him over Bo-Vision daughters to line up Bo-Howdy. There is a lot of upside to this young buck, and we have already bred him to several does at 5 months old. |

JRA1 Agnew’s Bo-Howdy x ABF Ribbons
This was our recent purchase from S&A Farms. He is the next step for us. We leased him for several months in the fall when he was younger, and with the set of kids we got we knew we had to have him.
Bo-Vision sired the 2007 Indiana State Fair Grand Champion Wether and our top show doe along with many other class winners and quality breeding does. His daughters compromise a major part of S&A’s flock.
This is the best dual purpose buck I have seen. His does have enough body and mass, and his wethers have enough style and power to get it done. Few bucks can balance this. Bo-Vision is moderate in every way and extremely correct. |

RDR Jazz |
|
This was our first buck, bred by David Dale in Oklahoma. He is six in this picture and still extremely viable. He has an old school pedigree being double bred Vlek, double RDR Super Champ, and with KARE Sparkey (Canada) and RDR Kangus.
His daughters are extremely pretty and productive in our herds. He is now owned by Brock Ostrom of Indiana and is continuing to do an excellent job. |

This was a buck I found last fall and fell in love with. He is a son of Downen Boilermaker and a Par 5 doe. His grandsires are Downen Design 19 and PARM Rocketman. We feel he is a great combination of the Downen mass and Parmer look.
We feel his does will be a valuable asset in our herd. He is co-owned with Brock Ostrom. His first set of kids is due in September. |

902 “Impact” |
|
Here he is. This is our new wether buck. Two words are needed to make good wethers: look and touch. “Impact” has both. These pictures are not very good, we’ll get better one’s up soon. This is after a 28 hour trailer ride.
This guy has the look. Jack fronted, long bodied, longer hip, and wider from front all the way back. “Impact” has as much skeletal extension through his body as any buck I have seen in Indiana and few can match in the Midwest. “Impact” has bone and breed character just to throw in extra pizzazz.
Being a November of 2007, were using him lightly this fall, but were using him on some of our best does to produce the best wethers possible. Putting 902 on top of our Turner and Kohl’s does to add that third dimension in show wethers should make something that is hard to stop. If you’re as serious about wethers as we are, come look this winter.
Owned with Steve King/Barry Scales, IN.
